Teddy Moose?

Bookmark and Share

Most of us know the story behind the Teddy Bear and how Theodore Roosevelt protected an old bear from being killed while on a hunting trip. Since that day, there was an occurence that took place that forever made the toy bear the "teddy bear". It is somewhat ironic how a creature such as the bear, has been made into this toy creature that for ages people have found adorable and cute. The very characteristics that we give to this toy bear is the exact opposite of the characteristics that you would find in a real live bear. But because of the incident with Teddy Roosevelt, the bear has gotten all the attention. Now, don't get us wrong, we like bears but we just feel that the moose never really got the credit it deserved.

If you do any research on Theodore Roosevelt, you'll learn that Roosevelt had a passion for the outdoor and for hunting and simply observing big game animals. Of all his outdoor stories, he doesn't talk in such high regard about any other animal like he talks about the moose. The moose was so elusive that he ended up spending alot of time tracking and learning about its behavior and habitat and gained a tremendous respect for the moose. He describes the moose as one of the largest and most majestic creatures to roam the woods. He had tremendous respect for the moose and lifestyle characteristics. There is clearly no other large animal like the moose that exemplifies the characteristics we hold in the symbol the "teddy bear". The moose is a large, strong and majestic creature with a gentle, warm hearted and soft side. If you have ever had the pleasure to travel to Moose Nation are any other part of the U.S. to witness one of these great creatures you know what I'm talking about when I describe them in this way.

NATIONAL TEDDY MOOSE MONTH

Our goal here at Moose Nation is to give moose the attention they deserve. In observance of Theodore Roosevelt's great reverance for the moose, we are officially claiming the month of September to be "National Teddy Moose Month". There is a big movement in the U.S. that is making the moose more and more popular. You can find companies that offer "teddy moose" as gifts like one of our favorite Moose Nation stores, Maine Moose Company. There is also a fast growing popularity for moose stuff and here at Moose Nation we are going to do our part to help this popularity to grow and grow until the moose gets at least as much attention as the "teddy bear". We hope you'll help in our effort to get all moose-aholics involved in getting new moose-aholics to visit our site and continue the popularity of Moose Mainia. Help us by visiting our site often and contributing when you can and also spreading the word to get other people to visit our site as well.
