us to share with the rest of moose nation.
Moose
Jaw
There is actually a town in Canada
called Moose Jaw. You'll find that it's "Surprisingly Unexpected".
Happy
Moose Monday from Montana
This is an interesting local
Montana blog with moose tidbits and some great moose photos.
Moose Bites
This is a really great moose blog
by someone who refers to himself as Marty the Moose and thinks
moose are very cool. It has some really interesting facts and
tidbits and you really
have
to check out this site.
Amazing
Backyard Moose Videos
I would like to thank our moose
friends, Articsooner, in Anchorage Alaska for sharing the most
amazing backyard videos of moose. The "twin moose in sprinkler"
video is just the best ever. Watch and enjoy...I promise you
will!
Moose
Nuggets
We're not referring to a Pot of Gold. We happen to be referring to one of Alaska's most popular tourist
souvenirs also referred to as "Moose Droppings". Moose droppings (also called "nuggets") get shallaced and turned into jewelry such as
earrings and necklaces as well as swizel sticks and Alaska's version of the Hawaiian "lay." Alaskans use over 50,000 nuggets a year!
Of course if you don't want to wear them, you can always play with the nuggets. At the annual Talkeetna
Moose Dropping Festival,
two days are dedicated to the celebration of the little pellets. There's art and craft booths, a parade, and many games that make use of
the nuggets.
Only in Alaska?
In Alaska, it is illegal to look
at a moose from the window of an aircraft or another flying vehicle.
It is also illegal to push
a live moose out of a moving aircraft. Believe it or not...
Loyal Order of Moose
The Loyal Order of Moose is a fraternal
and service organization founded in 1888, with nearly 800,000 men
in roughly 1,800 Lodges,
in all 50 states and four Canadian provinces, plus Great Britain
and Bermuda. Moose Lodges conduct approximately $50 million worth
of community service (counting monetary donations and volunteer
hours worked) annually. Seems like a great organization worth checking
out.
Anyone want to go
for a swim!!!
Only
in Alaska?
In Fairbanks, Alaska it is illegal
for a moose to walk on the side walk. This dates back to the
early days if the town when the owner of the bar had a pet moose
that he used to get drunk. The moose would then stumble around
the town drunk. The only way the law makers could prevent this
from happening was to create the law so the moose could not cross
the sidewalk and get into the bar.
Believe it or not...
Mooseman International Triathalon
Are you feeling as strong as a
moose? If so, then maybe you should consider entering the Mooseman
Ironman Triathalon held each year in Briston, NH. This seems
very doable if your as fit as a moose. Remember...moose can swim
up to 12 miles at 6 miles per hour. I wonder how many moose actually
sign up for this triathalon.
Moose Antler Carvings
If you're into moose antlers,
you have to check out Antlerwild.com. It has incredible moose
antler carvings by the artist Ben Graham. This guy is truly
an artist. He uses only 100% shed antlers for his carvings.

Moose
If you're traveling through Maine,
tune your radio dial to the Moose Nation's #1 Hit Music Station
and catch Jon James on the "Moose Morning Show". If you're lucky
you might even catch a segment of the "Moose
Marley Minute" with
Maine's King of Comedy, Bob Marley.
Basketball
Moose
Here is a great and very unique
video of a moose playing with a basketball. Watch him get really
upset when he loses control of the ball.
Moose Smooch
When you're in Maine and hanging
out at the beach or on a moose safari, you have to pick up
a tin of Moose Smooch. This stuff is the moose's meow! It's
made with olive oil and natural flavors so it’s sure
to please every pucker. We can guarantee that no moose were
injured in the testing of this product. We know because we
use it.
"Moose
Alley"
Pittsburg, New Hampshire
If you happen to be in the vicinity
of Pittsburg, one of New Hampshire's northern most cities and
you're in the mood to see moose, than you can travel up Route
3 from Pittsburg, NH toward the canadian border where a majority
of New Hampshire's moose live
and it is very likely that you will see moose along the way.
This is considered to be one of New England's Top Animal Adventures.
Bullwinkle & Rocky
How can we ever forget the most
famous moose of all...Bullwinkle. It has been 30 years since
"The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle Show" began along
with their villianous co-stars Boris and Natasha. Incredibly
enough,
Bullwinkle is still popular today. Check out Bullwinkle and
his friends at this really cool site and take a stroll down
memory lane. Also click
here to visit a great Bullwinkle fan
site.
