Bennington Moosefest All Year, Bennington, Vermont
The people of Bennington Vermont
have a very unique but great way of celebrating moose and
if you have ever been through Bennington, you know exactly
what I mean. They have placed large and beautifully colored
moose throughout their town for people to browse and enjoy.
If you ever go to Bennington, don't leave town without checking
out the moose. They are
fun to locate and the artwork is absolutely magnificent.
You can even download a map of all their locations on their
website.
Great
American Moose Fest May, Montello,
Wisconsin
If you enjoy the outdoors, hot airs
balloons, free ice cream, crafts, food, music, a carnival, winning
a scooter, meeting great people, having your kids experience
fishing with pro fishermen, then the Great American Moose Fest
is just for you.
Moose
Dropping Festival July, Talkeetna,
Alaska
This happens
to be to one of Alaska's most popular tourist souvenirs
also referred to as "Moose Nuggets".
Moose droppings get shallaced and
turned into jewelry such as earrings and necklaces as well
as swizel sticks and Alaska's version of the Hawaiian "lay." Alaskans
use over 50,000 nuggets a year! Of course if you don't
want
to wear them, you can always play with the nuggets. At the
annual Talkeetna
Moose Dropping Festival, two days are dedicated to the
celebration of the little pellets. There's art and craft
booths, a parade, and many games that make use of the nuggets.
Annual Moose Festival August, Colebrook,
New Hampshire
Enjoy the Dive for Moose Droppings
Contest in the indoor pool. This alone is worth checking
out. Also enjoy helicopter rides, art show, street fair,
moose parade, chicken barbeque, guided moose tour and live
entertainment into the evening.
